Happy Holidays
It’s a busy busy time of the year for everyone. I’ve been swamped with personal projects, but still keeping an eye on Sabayon community. Something that has come up and effects x86 only systems is an error message:
Couldn’t recognize the image file format
You know from my previous post that we had gtk+ issues and people were able to fix that by reinstalling gtk+, but now this has popped up, due to glibc and entropy. Simple fix:
equo install gdk-pixbuf
This should not happen in the future as entropy team is implementing procedures to prevent this. Everyday is a learning process for us all, nobody is exempt.
How is that gaming edition coming along?
This will be available soon for download. I’m not a big gamer, but I always find this gaming dvd fun to download and try out the games. It’s nice to see and use games that do work on linux. I still do most of my gaming in windows tho. Look for this soon and give it a whirl.
So what will 2011 bring? We will keep on working on the existing and making it better of course. Migrating the site to Drupal will be a big step. Entropy will continue to get improvements by it’s hard working master, Fabio. If you find at the end of the year that you need to dump some cash, feel free to donate some to Fabio for his hard work. 2011 will also bring new releases of course. We haven’t had much discussion as to when our first release will be for 2011 as everyone has just been so busy. If you are rolling along with the updates, you are doing just fine. 2010 was to be the year of entropy and I must say, it was a success, look out 2011.
Thanks to the community members for all the input you have given. We depend on that input to continue to improve. It’s nice to see the same community members returning day after day to help. I hope you all have a safe and happy holidays.
