Arch Linux – Live Beta
godane has posted on the Arch Linux forum of an Arch Linux livecd that he has been working on. He has a SourceForge page with information that you can check out and download the latest iso file. I figured I would give it a whirl and see what it was all about. I have to say, it’s fast, lean and runs the XFCE desktop, which is a highly customizable desktop that is light weight. It’s a great alternative to KDE or Gnome.
Boot Up Menu – which has a nice look to it and than we see it booting

It’s a work in progress and it’s doing very well. It’s lightening fast on my AMD X2 5600+. Sound, networking and video all working out of the box. I had a little problem with the dell desktop, but all I had to do was edit the xorg.conf file and restart X and it was good. I just had to comment out the modelines to get correct resolution. The download is just a little over 400mbs so it don’t take long to get this one up and running. Keep in mind this project is beta and is well worth keeping an eye on.
